Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Equipment Manager to oversee our team's equipment maintenance operations. In this role, you will be responsible for providing guidance, training, and support to a team of equipment operators. Your primary focus will be on ensuring efficient and effective maintenance procedures to uphold optimal equipment performance and adhere to safety regulations
Your role involves conducting regular inspections, performing preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety regulations. By calibrating, repairing, and documenting equipment maintenance activities, you will play a crucial role in supporting smooth forestry operations and contributing to sustainable forest management practices.
Duties to include:
Supervise a team of equipment operators, providing guidance, training, and support.
Develop and implement maintenance procedures and protocols to ensure efficient and effective equipment maintenance.
Conduct regular inspections and assessments of equipment to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance.
Schedule and coordinate equipment maintenance and repair activities, considering production schedules and minimizing disruptions.
Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance tasks.
Collaborate with various departments to understand their equipment needs and provide recommendations for equipment purchases or upgrades.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and enforce safety protocols during equipment maintenance activities.
Monitor equipment performance metrics and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and manage a budget for equipment maintenance and repairs, optimizing resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.
Stay updated on industry best practices, new technologies, and advancements in equipment maintenance techniques.
Minimum requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
In-depth knowledge of equipment maintenance procedures and protocols
Prior experience operating a variety of heavy equipment.
Proven experience in supervising and leading a team of equipment operators
Excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses.
Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
A sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines.
Sharp decision-making skills, particularly when under pressure.
